JGHW cable branch boxes can be divided into two categories according to their electrical composition: one is without any switchgear, the other is with only accessories for cable end treatment and connection, which are simple in structure, small in volume and single in function, and can be called ordinary tap boxes; the other is with accessories of ordinary tap boxes as well as ordinary tap boxes. There is one or more switchgear with complex structure, large volume, many connectors, difficult manufacturing technology and high cost, which can be called advanced tap box.

(1) General tap box

There is no switchgear in the common tap box. The incoming and outgoing wires are connected electrically with the same potential. They are suitable for tapping or branching. Usually, it is customary to add the number of rounds to the number of rounds to be called branch number. For example, a three-branch JGHW cable branching box has three equipotential connections in each phase, which can be used as an in-out or in-out. The JGHW cable branch box contains three phases of U, V and W. The three phases circuit structure is the same, arranged in sequence.

(2) Advanced tap box

The advanced tap box contains switchgear, which can not only play the role of tapping and branching of common tap box, but also play the role of controlling, converting and changing the operation mode of power supply circuit. Switch break roughly divides the cable circuit into the incoming side and the outgoing side, and the potential on both sides can be different. The switchgear has a larger volume, so the shape size of the high-level tap box is relatively large, the height is generally 1.4-1.8 m, the depth is about 0.9-1.0 m, and the length depends on the number of switchgear, mostly between 1.0 m and 2.4 M. The shape of the box is similar to that of the outdoor box transformer. There are several movable doors on the box. Some doors are for the operation of switchgear, and others are for the installation, construction and maintenance of cable connectors.
